• Is [AF ASSIST LAMP] on the [REC] menu set to [ON]? (P60)
• The AF assist lamp does not turn on in bright places.
• The surface of the camera during use and the batteries immediately after a long time
use become warm. This does not cause a problem with the performance or quality of the
camera.
• When brightness has changed due to the zoom or the movement of the camera or other,
the lens may click and the picture on the screen may be drastically changed, however,
the pictures are not affected. The sound is caused by automatic adjustment of the
aperture. It is not a malfunction.
• If you do not use the camera for a long time, the clock setting may be reset.

When you take a picture before setting the clock, [0:00 O. O. 0] is recorded.

• It is possible that the subject may be warped slightly or the borders get colored,
depending on the zoom magnification, but this is not malfunction.
• When using the Extended Optical Zoom, the zooming action will stop temporarily near
[W]. This is not a malfunction.

• Certain operations cause pictures to be saved in folders with different numbers. (P76)
• If the batteries are inserted or removed without first turning the camera's power off, the
folder and file numbers for the pictures taken will not be stored in the memory. When
the power is then turned back on and pictures are taken, they may be stored under file
numbers which should have been assigned to previous pictures.
• Check the clock (P16) and birthday settings (P45, 46).
• The lens barrel retracts about 15 seconds after switching from Recording Mode to
Playback Mode.
