To empty the dirt canister on the Shark V3800UK:

1. Press the dust cup release pedal located at the lower portion of the handle and lift out the dust cup.
2. Press the dust cup empty button on the bottom of the dust cup to release the dirt.
3. Once empty, gently snap the dust cup back into place.
