    GE T T I NG START E D Seat Belt Guide Loop • The seat belt should be routed through the seat belt guide loop located on the outboard side of the seat while it is in use. • To utilize the seat belt guide loop, unsnap the guide loop retainer by pulling up on the head of the retainer and pulling the seat belt guide loop outward.

    G ET T I NG S TARTE D CHILD RESTRAINTS Children 12 years or younger should ride properly buckled up in a rear seat, if available. According to crash statistics, children are safer when properly restrained in the rear seats rather than in the front.
  • Page 15 GE T T I NG START E D Installing The Child Restraints Using The Vehicle Seat Belts • The front passenger seating position is equipped with a Switchable Automatic Locking Retractor (ALR) that is designed to keep the lap portion of the seat belt tight around the child restraint.

Finally, pull up on any extra webbing to tighten the lap portion around the child restraint while you push the child restraint rearward and downward into the vehicle seat. 7. If the child restraint has a top tether strap and the seating position has a top tether anchorage, connect the tether strap to the anchorage and tighten the tether strap.

    GE T T I NG START E D WARNING! • In a collision, an unrestrained child, even a tiny baby, can become a projectile inside the vehicle. The force required to hold even an infant on your lap could become so great that you could not hold the child, no matter how strong you are. The child and others could be severely injured or killed.

    O PE RAT ING YOUR VE HI CL E ELECTRONIC STABILITY CONTROL • The ESC corrects for oversteering and understeering the vehicle by applying the brake of the appropriate wheel. Engine power may also be reduced to assist in counteracting the condition of oversteer or understeer and help the vehicle maintain the desired path.

To enter the “Sport Mode” mode, press the “ESC” switch once (located on the steering wheel).
