Problem
Battery duration is less
than per specification.
Note: While charging, battery
may not initiate a charge.
Allow unit to cool to operating
temperature before charging.
Will initiate in approx. (20
min).
Note: Whenever storing
FreeStyle for an extended
period of time, ensure that the
battery the state of charge
(SOC) is not depleted or
stored at 100%. Both these
conditions can result in
unrecoverable capacity loss.
The recommend SOC is 25%
to 50% for long-term storage.
The recommended storage
temperature is 23º C ± 2º C.
Unit does not start
on battery.
Battery does not charge.

Possible Cause
Battery not fully charged.
Battery has been stored in a
discharged or 100% charged
state for prolonged period of
time or stored in a very high
temperature environment.
Battery reached cycle life.
Unit temperature has exceeded

5 to 40ºC.

Battery is defective
Unit temperature has exceeded

Ensure that battery
charges for at least
3½ hours and all (4) LEDs
are lit solid.
