8. Advice and

troubleshooting

8.1 The use of LP Gas in cold weather is
affected by a number of factors which can be
remedied with a number of measures.
Factors that affect the efficiency of the stove:
- The mixture of gas in the LP Gas cartridge
(propane/ isobutane/butane)
− The quantity of LP Gas in the cartridge
- The surrounding temperature
- The temperature of the LP Gas cartridge
Measures which improve function during cold
weather
- Warm the LP gas cartridge with your hands
or under clothing
8.2 When liquid fuel is used in connection
with low power (boiling), the fuel bottle should
be used with low pressure by only pumping
the fuel pump once or twice. Important
information is given below regarding the
power of stoves used with fuel bottles and
advice as to how the (maintained) power can
be increased.
Possible reasons and measures if the
appliance burns with an unstable, yellow
flame:
- Insufficient preheating (see item 5).
- The jet is blocked (clean regularly as
described under item 8)
- Preheating for too short a period
- The incorrect jet is mounted on the appliance
(check and replace jet)
- Excess pressure in the fuel bottle
- Increasing from low power to high power too
quickly
- The appliance is not protected against wind.
A collapsible wind screen should always
be used during windy conditions. This is
especially important with winter use.
