before you start
Turn the TV on
Tune the TV to your
Video Channel or to its
AV mode
ntsc tapes
If an NTSC tape is
played, 'NTSCaPAL'
appears on screen for
about 5 seconds
Some TVs will shrink
the picture and place
black bars at the top and
bottom of the screen.
This is not a malfunction
but you may lose some
on-screen information
The picture may roll up
or down. Correct this by
adjusting the vertical
hold on the TV set
The counter and tape
remaining times will be
incorrect
The picture will be
distorted during search,
still or frame-by-frame
