    Chapter 2. Install AN2L Install Hard Disk Step 1 Unscrew the screws on the back panel, and open the unit by sliding the larger side panel forward. Step 2 Install the first hard drive by placing it in the hard drive cradle, and sliding it forward to lock it into the connector.

    1. You can access the public folder of AN2L by the following means: a. Open My Network Places and find the workgroup of AN2L. If you cannot find the server, please browse the whole network to search for AN2L. Double click the name of AN2L for connection.

To use this function, check the box SSL login on the administration page and login the server. Note: If your AN2L is placed behind an NAT gateway and you want to access the AN2L by secure login from the Internet, you must open the port 443 on your NAT and forward this port to AN2L LAN IP.

    Quick Con guration Please follow the step-by-step guide in Quick Con guration to complete the settings of the AN2L. If you have any questions during web administration, please click the help button on the top right hand corner of the page.

When THE AN2L plays the role as a terminal and needs to perform independent connection, e.g. BT download, you must enter at least one DNS server IP for proper URL connection.     3.3.1 Server Name Enter the name of the AN2L. The server name can be 14 characters long at maximum, which supports alphabets, numbers, and hyphen (-). The server does not accept names with space, period (.), or names in pure number.

    3.3.2 Date & Time Set the date, time, and time zone according to your location. If the settings are incorrect, the following problems may occur: When using a web browser to access or save a file, the display time of the action will be incorrect.

    3.4.1 TCP/ IP Configuration You can select one of the following two methods to configure the TCP/IP settings of the AN2L. 1. Obtain IP address settings automatically via DHCP If your network supports DHCP, the AN2L will use DHCP protocol to retrieve the IP address and related information automatically.
  • Page 46 DNS servers. You can enter “0.0.0.0” in the settings. Enable DHCP Server If no DHCP is available in the LAN where THE AN2L locates, you can enable this function to enable THE AN2L as a DHCP server and allocate dynamic IP address to DHCP clients in LAN.

    After enabling DDNS service of the AN2L, whenever the AN2L restarts or the IP address is changed, the AN2L will notify DDNS provider immediately to record the new IP address. When the user tries to connect the AN2L via the host name, DDNS will transfer the recorded IP address to the user.

    You can enable MySQL Server as the website database. Enable TCP/IP Networking You can enable this option to configure MySQL Server of the AN2L as a database server of another web server in remote site through Internet connection.
