Choosing a Text Mode
To activate a text mode, press

Note: The text mode you select remains active until you change it
by selecting another mode.
Tap Method
Tap method is the default standard mode for entering text on your
phone.
To activate tap method from any text entry screen, press

select the

Let the phone predict each word as you
enter it, then choose the word from a list
(see "Predictive Text Entry with iTAP™
Software" on page 47).
Enter characters one at a time by pressing
the key for the letter, number, or symbol
(see "Tap Method" on page 42). This is the
standard mode for entering text on your
phone.
Enter only the number that appears on
each key.
Enter symbols only (see "Symbol Mode"
on page 45).
Browse through your phonebook and
recent calls lists to select a name or
number to enter.
