Console
The Systems Director Management Console (SDMC) is the successor to the Hardware
Management Console (HMC) and the Integrated Virtualization Manager (IVM).
This chapter highlights some of the new concepts, terminology, features, and functionality of
the SDMC and how they relate to POWER6- and POWER7-based blades. Installation and
setup of the SDMC is outside the scope of this paper and will not be covered in this chapter.
