Possible cause
The monitor goes off.
The camera is in the
sleep mode.
The power is turned
off with the monitor off.
The flash does not fire.

Corrective action
Operate the camera (press the shutter button or
turn the zoom lever).
If ALL RESET in the mode menu is set to OFF, the
camera settings before the power was turned off
remain unchanged.
Turn on the monitor, and turn off the power.
Press the flash button to make the flash pop up.
If you want the flash to fire on a brightly
illuminated subject, set the flash to fill-in mode.
