iii. Mute Settings
This window allows all channel on / off settings to be changed. This is usually only used dur-
ing setup or trouble shooting when testing single output channels in the theater.
REMEMBER: All parameter changes become active within the DCM hardware unit only af-
ter selecting Communications | Write Configuration to DCM.
iv. Fault Diagnostics
The fault diagnostics window is where you look if the Load Fault LED lights up. If a load
fault was detected (and is still active), this will be shown in red on this screen (you can also
select "Show Faults Only"). Non-active faults (ones that happened earlier but were cor-
rected), will also be shown on the Show Faults Only screen. This powerful feature will tell
you exactly which channel has the problem and was it due to a short or open connection.
This offers a very accurate history of amplifier output current and voltage, and can possibly
help with understanding other system problems.
NOTE: Turning the DCM off (for a minimum of 15 seconds) will erase and reset the
fault memory.
REMEMBER: If you just want to know which channel had a fault indication, press the
Diagnostics button on the front panel and the LED over the problem channel will light
up!
The PC display window DOES NOT update the fault status in real time. Press the Refresh
button to retrieve the fault history file from the DCM hardware unit. This status is also up-
dated when you activate the Communications | Get Configuration from DCM command.
