4. Smoke and Fumes Entering Room
These are very dangerous and must NOT be tolerated. Open
window and allow fi re to burn out. Seek expert advice immediately.
DO NOT USE stove until the problem is solved.
5. Fire inside the Flue Pipe
Identifi ed by loud roaring sounds, dense smoke and sparks emitting
from top of fl ue. Shut down the air supply by closing air vents,
close stove door fully and call fi re brigade immediately. Regular
fl ue cleaning will prevent fl ue fi res. Seek advice from a Qualifi ed
Chimney Sweep. Flues must be checked annually and more often
when bitumas coal and poor quality smokey fuels are used.
