Questions and answers
I have GS 1000 electronic scale from Hornady which I have very seldom used, now when I wanted to use it again it gives me a fault code. Please see attached picture. Can you please help me to get it work again.
If your Hornady GS-1000 electronic scale displays a fault code, follow these steps to troubleshoot:
1. Overload Error ("E" on Display)
- Remove any excessive weight immediately.
- Ensure the load does not exceed the scale’s maximum capacity (1000 grains or 65 grams).
- If the error persists, check for possible damage.
2. Calibration Error ("CAL E" on Display)
- Retry the calibration process.
- Ensure the correct calibration weight is used.
- Place the weight gently in the center of the weighing tray.
- Avoid vibrations, air currents, or unstable environmental conditions.
3. General Troubleshooting
- Ensure the scale is on a flat, stable surface.
- Keep it away from strong electrical or magnetic fields.
- Allow at least 30 seconds for warm-up before calibration.
- Check battery power or use a 120V AC adapter if necessary.
- Keep the scale clean and free from dust or moisture.
If errors persist, the scale may require professional inspection or repair.
