Installation

1. Insert the shutter cocking lever into the left shutter cocking guide making sure that its
plastic locating pin is properly inserted into the square cocking slot formed by the
alignment of the shutter and the diaphragm plates.
Note: While replacing the shutter cocking lever be careful not to misalign
the shutter and the diaphragm plates.
If the shutter and the diaphragm plates are misaligned during the
replacement of the shutter cocking lever, refer to the Shutter and
Diaphragm Plate assembly/disassembly procedure to properly
realign (see page 24).
2. Using a pair of small needle nose pliers, connect the shutter cocking return spring to the
plastic post at the lower end of the shutter cocking lever.
3. Secure the shutter cocking return spring to the shutter cocking lever post:
• Place the washer and clip onto the shutter cocking return spring post at the end of the
shutter cocking lever.
• Using a soldering iron, stake (melt) the top of the shutter cocking return spring post to
prevent it from backing off.
Note:
When applying heat to the top of the shutter cocking return spring post be
careful not to overheat it. Overheating could damage the post allowing
the washer and clip to back off causing the shutter cocking lever operation
to fail.
4. Install the front cover assembly (Figure 2-1).
