Note: If programming a garage door opener or gate operator, it is
advised to unplug the device during the "cycling" process to prevent
overheating.
• Continue to press and hold the HomeLink button (note step 3 in the
"Programming" section) while you press and release — every two
seconds ("cycle") your hand-held transmitter until the frequency
signal has been accepted by the HomeLink . The red indicator light
will flash slowly and then rapidly after HomeLink accepts the radio
frequency signal.
• Proceed with step 4 in the "Programming" section.
Operating the HomeLink Universal Transceiver
To operate, simply press and release
the appropriate HomeLink button.
Activation will now occur for the
trained product (garage door, gate
operator, security system, entry
door lock, or home or office lighting
etc.). For convenience, the
hand-held transmitter of the device
may also be used at any time. In the event that there are still
programming difficulties, contact Homelink at www.homelink.com.or
1–800–355–3515.
Rolling code programming
To train a garage door opener (or other rolling code equipped devices)
with the rolling code feature, follow these instructions after completing
the "Programming" in this section. (A second person may make the
following training procedures quicker & easier)
1. Locate the "learn" or "smart" button on the garage door motor
head unit. Exact location and color of the button may vary by product
brand. If there is difficulty locating the "learn" or "smart" button refer to
the device's owner manual or contact Homelink at 1–800–355–3515 or
on the Internet at www.homelink.com.
2. Press and release the "learn" or "smart" button on the garage door
motor head unit.
Note: Following step 2, there are 30 seconds in which to initiate step 3.
