5. REMOVE THE TRANSITION
Using a Phillips no. 2 screwdriver, remove and discard both screws and washers
retaining the transition to the hood. Remove the transition and the wood mounting
strip (on back of hood) and set aside.

6. INSTALL WOOD MOUNTING STRIP

Due to the weight of this hood, ensure that the wood strip is attached to all of the available wall studs
and/or blocking; not into the wall alone.
1. Proper structural support is required to accommodate
the weight of the hood. Construct a wall framing
using minimum 2" x 4" lumbers.
2. Mark the center location of the hood.
3. Measure and mark a level line on wall above cooktop
location for the wood mounting strip. Install 2" x 4"
blockings between wall studs where mounting strip
will be installed. Refer to illustration at right.
4. Remove wood mounting strip from back of hood.
5. Position the wood mounting strip on the wall and
secure to the wall studs and/or blockings using
4 no. 10 x 2" flat head screws (included in parts bag).
7. SELECT BLOWER OPTION
INTERIOR BLOWER: Follow all subsequent steps of this manual.
EXTERIOR BLOWER: Discard the exterior blower rough-in plate. Refer to instructions packed with exterior blower and follow
steps 8 to 11, 13 and up of the present manual.
