For easier operation and longer blade life, lubricate the hedge trimmer blade before and after each use.  Stop the engine and disconnect the spark plug wire.  Lay the hedge trimmer on a flat surface. Apply light weight machine lubricant along the edge of the top blade.

Use an exact replacement and replace annually, or more frequently if necessary. CLEANING THE EXHAUST PORT AND MUFFLER Depending on the type of fuel used, the type and amount of lubricant used, and/or your operating conditions, the exhaust scabbaRd port and muffler may become blocked with carbon deposits.
