5.5 DISPLAYING THE LYRICS OF THE SONG

The Genius allows display of the lyrics of the song being played back on the screen by means
of the LYRICS function. Naturally, the lyrics of a given song can only be displayed if the lyrics
information is present in the permitted formats in the file.
The Genius recognises the following formats:
ü Lyric coding in the form of MIDI codes (M-LIVE® standard)
ü Coding of lyrics and chords in accordance with the SOLTON® standard
ü Coding of lyrics and breakdown into syllables in accordance with Lyrics metaevents
(Standard TUNE1000®, GENERALMUSIC® SMF, YAMAHA®)
N.B.: The Genius recognises the format of any lyrics on the song, identifying the copyright of
the MIDI file producer. It is therefore important to use the permitted types of Karaoke without
converting the format. In addition, do not use more than one text coding mode within the
same file.
If the song contains lyrics information recognised by the instrument, when playback starts the
Lyrics function is enabled automatically. The LED of the [LYRICS] key illuminates and the
display will show the text of the song, which can also be broken down into syllables with the
aid of upper/lower case letters if the file envisages this type of information.
After starting playback of a song from the MAIN PAGE,
the display will start to show the lyrics of the song synchronised with the musical backing.
If the file envisages breakdown into syllables, this will be displayed with the aid of uppercase
letters:
