Serviceisolatorvalvekitsmaybepurchasedfromthe
manufacturer,distributor,orplaceofpurchase.The
kitsincludetwofull-portisolationvalvestobeused
intheinletandoutletwaterlines.Thesekitsprovide
a meansforfulldiagnostictestingandeaseofsystem
flushing.
FreezeProtection
WARNING:
heatercancauseseriouspersonalinjuryfromscalding
and/orproductdamage.
Wheneverthewaterheatermaybeexposedtofreezing
conditions,makesuretocompletelydrainthewater
fromtheunit.Seepage20.
Freezingconditionscomefromtheventilationsystem
ondirect-ventmodelsandfromexposuretocoldairon
outdoormodels.
Allofthesewaterheatersareequippedwithafreeze
protectionelectricheater.Thisheaterprevents
freezinginsidethewaterheaterdowntoanambient
temperatureofapproximately-30°F(-34°C).These
temperaturesareallbasedontemperatureswithout
wind.
Theheateronlyprotectstheinternalcomponentsof
thewaterheater.
NOTICE:
supplytothewaterheaterwillalsodisconnectthe
powertotheheater.
Externalpipingandvalvesrequireadditional
freezeprotection.Onemethodistowrapinsulation
aroundthepipingandvalves.
Anothermethodistoturnonahotwaterfaucetand
leaveasmallamountofwaterrunningatafaucet.
Thiswillprotectthewaterheater,piping,andvalves
fromfreezing.
