The smoothly molded front panel was also designed to allow the
center of gravity to be moved forward, placing it closer to its mount-
ing axis. While providing strength and rigidity, the die-cast panel
also protects the front panel controls and indicators from inadvert-
ent abuse.
Until now, all professional audio systems had either internal or ex-
ternal auxiliary air systems facilitating the cooling of the electron-
ics. With the K-Series, we have made fans unnecessary for normal
operation!
If you are operating the K-Series amp in very high ambient tem-
peratures, or if you notice theTLC indicators starting to illuminate,
do not despair! Typically, modest amounts of air movement will
enable your amp to dissipate any excessive heat and regain its
normal composure. Due to the wide range of operating conditions
present in the field, each installation needs to be considered inde-
pendently for optimum thermal operation. If your TLC indicators
illuminate, consider the following possible causes:
Normally, two or more of these situations must be present in order
to cause illumination of the TLC LEDs.

Ya Gotta Know When to Kool It!
Your K-Series amplifier has been designed from the
ground up to be a high-output amplifier that is totally
convection cooled—meaning no fan is required. This
goal was achieved through a variety of means:
First, we forgot to include the fan in the bill of materials.
Second, our balanced-current circuitry produces power
much more efficiently than conventional amplifier circuits.
Third, the amplifier case and front panel were designed
1) Insufficient air movement.
2) Overdriving of the input stage (severely into clip).
3) Very low-impedance loads.
4) High ambient temperatures.
