SYMPTOM
10. The tape is moving, but
there is no picture.
11. Snapshot mode cannot be
used.
12. Digital Zoom does not
work.
13. Programme AE with
special effects and Fade/
Wipe Effects do not work.
14. The Black & White Fader
does not work.
15. The Dissolve function does
not work.
16. Scene transition does not
go as expected.
POSSIBLE CAUSES
10. •Your TV has AV input
terminals, but is not set to its
VIDEO mode.
•The cassette's cover is open.
11. •The Squeeze mode is
selected.
12. •16X optical zoom is selected.
•Picture Wipe or Dissolve are
being used in a scene
transition.
•Snapshot was attempted
during Digital Zoom.
13. •The Power Switch is set to
"AUTO".
14. •The Sepia or Monotone
mode is activated.
15. •The Sepia, Monotone or Slow
Shutter mode of Programme
AE with special effects is
activated.
•The Squeeze mode is
selected.
•The previously selected mode
of Programme AE with
special effects was changed
after the last selected scene
for editing was registered.
16. •When using "Picture Wipe/
Dissolve" (
pg. 26), there is
a delay of a fraction of a
second between the previous
record stop-point and the
Dissolve start-point. This is
normal, but this slight delay
becomes especially notice-
able when shooting fast-
moving subject or during
rapid panning.
CORRECTIVE ACTION
10. • Set the TV to the mode or
channel appropriate for video
playback (
pg. 40, 41).
• Close the cassette's cover
(
pg. 10).
11. • Disengage the Squeeze
mode (
pg. 23).
12. • Wait until the Picture Wipe
or Dissolve effects are
completed (
pg. 26).
• Do not attempt to take a
Snapshot when performing
Digital Zoom (
13. • Set the Power Switch to
"PRO." (
pg. 25, 28).
14. • Turn off Sepia and Mono-
tone (
pg. 28).
15. • Turn off Sepia, Monotone or
Slow before adding Dissolve
to a scene transition
(
pg. 28).
• Make sure that the Squeeze
mode in the Recording
Menu is set to "OFF"
(
pg. 22).
• Make sure you have selected
the mode of Programme AE
with special effects you want
before starting editing
(
pg. 28).
