28. The Multi Channel Digital Video Recorder must utilize traditional VCR like
controls to provide the benefits of digital recording with minimal training.
The unit shall include intuitive front panel controls such as play/pause, fast
forward, rewind, record, menu, search, etc., and shall incorporate a jog
shuttle to allow video review using step by step or variable speed control.
29. The Multi Channel Digital Video Recorder shall include an RS232 port for
remote control/integration of the unit with third party systems. A setup
screen must be available to adjust the settings for baud rate, parity, data
bits, and stop bits. ASCII control codes must be readily available from the
manufacturer for control and programming of the Digital Video Recorder.
30. The Multi Channel Digital Video Recorder shall include an RS485 port
used for either remote control of the unit or PTZ dome camera control.

third party systems, such as VideoBloX matrix systems, access control
systems, or building management systems.
