Formatting an SD Memory Card or Internal
Memory
If you wish to use an SD card with this camera you must first format it so it is
compatible with the camera. You can also format the internal memory to clear
any data from it. This function deletes all files in the internal memory and
memory card.
1. Slide the lens cover open until it clicks
to turn on the camera.
The camera mode (default preview)
is displayed.
2. Press
/ MENU and access setup menu
with the
button.
You may also toggle the

3. Select [Format] with the

4. Select [Execute] with the

To cancel formatting, select [Cancel]
and press the OK button.
5. To exit from menu, press the
continuously.
When you format an SD memory card, be aware that all data on it will be
erased for good. Protected images are also erased.
To format the internal memory, do not insert a memory card into the
camera. Otherwise, you will format the memory card.
Formatting is an irreversible action and data cannot be recovered at a
later time.
An SD memory card with problems cannot be formatted properly.
