Chili can create a Mixed output by
using the internal piano sound from
the sound module, or from a
microphone placed on the
soundboard of the piano. If there is a
microphone on, we must tell Chili that
a microphone is present. Turn the
data dial until the M in Microphone is
underlined and press enter. The
current status will be underlined.
Select off if Chili sound module will
create the sound. If you would like to

This tells you what version of Pianomation
you have. This relates to the EPROM
located on the processor of the Pianomation
engine.

Chili has three audio processors: Unmixed, Mixed, and Headphones.
•
The first audio processor is called Unmixed. It is dedicated to the speakers that serve the piano. Only
background music is heard from these speakers.
•
The second audio processor is called Mixed. It is dedicated to a mixed signal of both piano and background.
•
The third audio processor is called Headphones. It is dedicated to the outputs that go to the headphone jacks
on the front panel. The headphone outputs can be either mixed or unmixed outputs, default is mixed.

Piano and background controls in this area
pertain to the audio processor that controls the
outputs on the back of the unit called unmixed.
So if your speaker is using the outputs labeled
mixed you will not hear a difference on your
speaker when you change the background.
If you see the word Play on the top line of the Chili screen then the data dial will function as a volume knob.
Turning it will adjust the global volume. This will send controller 7 messages out the MIDI out port.

Note: Adjusting the global volume increases all of the
volumes together, mixed, unmixed, and headphones.
Under setup you can set any of the outputs to a line level.
If an output is set to line level, global volume will not
change the volume of that output.
