    Basic Operation � Turn the radio On & OFF Rotate the PWR/VOL knob clockwise till the radio is turned on. The radio gets started to auto test for two seconds. During auto testing, all icons on LCD will appear. After auto testing is done, LCD will show channel name tag and what functions have been activated by your dealer.

    � Transmitting Before transmitting, you can monitor the channel you are using to ensure it is not busy. Simply press B key that is defined as PTT button and start talking at approximately 2 inches from the MIC hole. During transmitting, the LED on the top of the radio will glow red. Release PTT button when you have finished talking.

    Delete A Nuisance Channel Allows you to remove temporarily the channels which you don’t want to hear from the scan list. During scanning, when the radio is locked on a busy channel, press button to remove this channel from the scan list, and it won’t be scanned until the radio is turned on again. This func- tion should not be used in systems critical or mission critical communication systems and can be disabled by your dealer.

    e.g. For most licensed radios, we suggest the dealer should set & buttons to be locked and unlocked with user’s access. By this way, the user can only switch channels & activate scan without changing other setting. � Keypad Unlock By keep pressing the button to be unlocked for 5 seconds, the button can be unlocked for 10 seconds.

    � TOT (Time-Out Timer) TOT is the function that prevents from locking up a repeater or frequency by prolonged keying of PTT. The time-out timer limits the amount of time you have to transmit your message. When you reach the time limit which has been programmed by your dealer, your transmission will be cut off.

    Receiving A Selective Call When the Called radio receives a SelCal, its LCD will show the ID of the Calling radio. Then, the called radio will automatically make a response call, a beep will be heard. In the meantime, the speaker will be programmed(open) and PTT will be enabled.
