16. Using TomTom HOME
TomTom HOME is a free software program for your computer that enables

• Read the full version of the user manual.
• Update your TomTom GO with the latest software and services
automatically.
• Make and restore backups of your GO.
• Manage maps, voices, POIs and more.
• Transfer music and photos to your GO.
• Buy TomTom services and manage your subscriptions.

Installing TomTom HOME

There are two ways to install TomTom HOME on your computer.
Internet installation:
• Connect the Home Dock to your computer using the USB cable.
• Place your TomTom GO in the Home Dock and connect your computer to
the Internet. The installation will start automatically.
CD installation:
• Place the CD which came with your GO into your computer and follow the
instructions.
If the installation does not automatically start after you insert the CD,
browse to the CD on your computer and double-click the file named Install
TomTom HOME.
Once installed, TomTom HOME will start automatically as soon as you
connect your GO to your computer.

HOME Help Topics

In the HOME Help topics you can find all kinds of tips and tricks on how to use
HOME. You can open the HOME help topics by Pressing F1 or by clicking Help
in the menu bar.

MyTomTom Account

In order to buy content and services through TomTom HOME you will have to
set up a MyTomTom account for the device you want to buy the content for.
You will be asked to create an account when you start using HOME.
