Appendix A: Troubleshooting
One useful way to find the source of problems is to isolate your system to the
smallest size where the problem still occurs and then note all the symptoms. This
serves to eliminate areas not involved in the problem and makes finding the problem
easier.
Once you've noted problem symptoms, look through the following table and see if
any of the symptoms are listed. If so, check the items listed. If you later need to call for
customer service, let them know all of the things you've tried and when and how the
symptoms appeared.
Symptom
Disk RAID cannot keep up (dropped
frames etc.).
Dropped frames during playback.
Dropped frames during record.
Media is not being captured from desired
external device.
Dropped frames during playback
Video stutter during playback.
Red render bar occurs when placing a clip
on a sequence.
Check
Ensure the disk system is providing at least 50 MB/second
sustained transfer rate
