  • Page 2 Welcome Congratulations on your purchase of a wireless Clip-On Micro- phone, a high quality streamer of speech and sound. The Clip-On Microphone streams speech directly to your hearing instrument. The line-in functionality of the Clip-On Microphone will provide you with a streamed audio signal (mono) from your audio system, personal computer, TV or similar device directly to your hearing instruments.

Intended use The Clip-On Microphone is intended to enable hearing instrument users to better follow speech or listen to other audio signals. The essential performance of the Clip-On Microphone is to transfer signals from the microphone or other audio devices to a compat- ible wireless hearing instrument.

    • When charging your wireless Clip-On Microphone for the first time, allow it to charge for at least 3 hours, even if the battery indicator indicates that the battery is fully charged.
  • Page 11: Turning Your Wireless Clip-On Microphone On And Off

    Turning your Clip-On Microphone ON and OFF To turn ON your wireless Clip-On Microphone, slide the ON/OFF switch (#4 on page 8) down to the ON position. A white “I” icon will be visible on the switch and the LED indicator will now blink green every 2.5 seconds.

    1, 2 or 3 must be selected when starting the pairing pro- cess. Pairing the Clip-On Microphone in Channel 1 1. Make sure the Clip-On Microphone is turned ON. Your hear- ing instruments must be OFF—the battery doors must be open.
  • Page 13 You are now ready to use your wireless Clip-On Microphone! Pairing the Clip-On Microphone in Channel 2 or 3 To pair the Clip-On Microphone in Channel 2, press the pairing button twice. The LED will now blink yellow twice every 2 seconds to in- dicate that it is ready to be paired in Channel 2.
  • Page 14 To pair the Clip-On Microphone in Channel 3, press the pairing button three times. The LED will now blink yellow three times ev- ery 2 seconds to indicate that it is ready to be paired in Channel 3. Close the battery doors on the hearing instruments.

    Start streaming Turn on the Clip-On Microphone and make sure your hearing in- struments are turned on as well. Streaming may then be started in one of two ways. 1. Press and hold the push button on both hearing instruments for about three seconds in order to listen to the streamed audio signal.
  • Page 16 Start streaming on a 2nd or 3rd Clip-On Microphone unit If your hearing instrument is paired to more than one streaming device, you can start streaming in two ways. 1. Press and hold the hearing instrument push button for about 3 seconds a 2nd or 3rd time to access the 2nd or 3rd com- patible streaming device.

    Clip-On Microphone will be temporarily disrupted. When you have ended your phone call, streaming will resume. Note! The Clip-On Microphone will transmit over a range of approximately 20 feet (or more.) Transmission can be interrupted if the distance between the hearing instru- ment and the Clip-On Microphone is increased beyond the transmission range.

    Place the device within a range of 4 to 8 inches from the speaker’s mouth. Light indicator (LED) The Light indicator (#6 on page 9) on your wireless Clip-On Microphone serves as a multipurpose user interface, providing information on the status of your device.

  • Page 20 Note: When using the Clip-On Microphone with a TV, you can use the HEADPHONE output terminal which is usu- ally located on the side or front of the TV. Typically, when using the HEADPHONE output terminal on the TV, only the person wearing the hearing instruments will hear the sound, and the TV speakers will be muted.

    Volume control The Clip-On Microphone has been designed to provide a comfortable listening level from the moment it is activated. However, for some devices or listening environments it may be desirable to adjust the listening volume. This can be accom- plished in a variety of ways.
  • Page 22 • Use a Remote Control (optional) to adjust the streaming volume in the hearing instrument. Ask your hearing healthcare profes- sional for more information about this accessory. • In some cases,the volume can be further adjusted at the signal source, for example by turning down the volume on the TV it- self.

    • Clean the Clip-On Microphone using a damp cloth. Never use household cleaning products (detergent, soap, etc.) or alcohol to clean the device. • When the Clip-On Microphone is not in use, turn it OFF and store it safely. • Protect the Clip-On Microphone from excessive moisture (bathing, swimming) and heat (radiator, car dashboard).
