APPENDIX B, Coal/Oil Set up instructions Leisure Line WL 110

Oil Operation
1. If boiler will be fired on oil first, remove the front cover and oil gun assembly (it is held
in place by 4 9/16" head nuts).
2. Remove the diffuser from the combustion chamber (there are coal style twisted
economizers installed, these may be slightly less efficient on oil than the factory units
supplied in the ash pan)
3. If you want to change the economizers:
a.
Remove four sheet metal screws and the top jacket cover
b.
Remove the insulation piece and the four nuts on the cover
c.
Remove the cover and remove all economizers noting where the two with the hooks are installed, these will be
reinstalled in the same location for coal operation
d.
Thoroughly clean the fire tubes, flu pipe and combustion chamber
e.
Install the 16 factory economizers and reinstall the cover, insulation and sheet metal jacket cover
4. Install the insulation piece with the tongue in the bottom of the combustion chamber,
there is a small rectangular piece of insulation that must be removed first
5. Place the insulation piece without the tongue on top of the other insulation piece
6. Reinstall the front cover and oil burner and tighten the nuts
7. Switch the select switch to oil and proceed with oil burner set up per the Becket
instruction manual (if your unit is fitted with an interlock switch, verify it is snugly
against the front cover surface to ensure the circuit is closed)
8. Refer to the Axeman Anderson and Becket Manuals provided in the document envelope
to properly adjust the and operate the unit in oil mode.
Coal Operation
1. If boiler is currently configured for oil perform the following steps.
2. Remove the front cover and oil gun assembly (it is held in place by 4 9/16" head nuts).
3. If you have oil economizers installed:
a.
Remove four sheet metal screws and the top jacket cover
b.
Remove the insulation piece and the four nuts on the cover
c.
Remove the cover and remove all economizers noting where the two with the hooks are installed, these will be
reinstalled in the same location for coal operation
d.
Thoroughly clean the fire tubes, flu pipe and combustion chamber
e.
Install the 16 twisted economizers (the two with the J hooks go on the sides second from the rear) and reinstall the
cover, insulation and sheet metal jacket cover
4. Install the diffuser in the combustion chamber by hanging the unit from the J hooks with
the V facing down. The bent lip goes at the front (you should see it at the door opening)
5. Remove the insulation piece without the tongue
