Answer machine settings

Ring delay

Select the duration of rings before your answer machine picks up the call. Choose from 5/10/15/
20/25/30 seconds or Toll Saver.
NOTE
If Toll Saver is selected, then:
• If you have new messages your phone answers after 10 seconds.
• If there are no new messages it will answer after 20 seconds. So you have the option to hang
up, saving the time and cost of a call.
• If the memory is full, it will answer after 30 seconds in Answer Only mode.

Remote access

Remote access allows you to operate your answer machine and listen to your messages by calling
your D1010 from another phone.
The default setting is on.
1. Call your D1010. When you hear your outgoing message, press #.
2. Enter your 4 digit PIN. The default code is 0000.

You hear a confirmation beep.
NOTE
Change this code for increased security, see "PIN" on page 19.
3. After entering your PIN as stated above, use the keypad to operate your D1010 answer
machine:
Play messages
Play previous message
Play next message
Delete message playing
Switch answer machine on
Stop playback
Switch answer machine off

Call screening

Use your handset or base speaker to hear a caller leaving a message. You can then choose to
ignore the caller or pick up the call.
The default settings are:
• Handset call screening: Off
• Base call screening: On.
At the handset:
1. If you want to interrupt and take the call press

1. When a caller is leaving a message, press
caller.
