Using the appliance
straightening your hair
Straighteners are powerful styling tools and must always
be used with care.
As with all straighteners that reach salon-high
temperatures, do not use the appliance frequently to
avoid damage to the hair. If you use the straightener
incorrectly, you could overheat your hair or even burn
it. Always make sure you select a temperature that is
suitable for your hair type.
1
Put the plug in the wall socket.
2
Press the on/off button.
-
Slide the closing lock down to unlock the appliance
if it is locked.
The default temperature setting of 120 appears on
,
the display. As soon as the appliance has heated up
to this setting, the word 'READY' appears on the
display (Fig. 2).
Never leave the appliance unattended when it is plugged
in. Never put the appliance on a surface that is not heat-
resistant when it is heating up and when it is hot.
Tip: If you lock the plates with the closing lock, the
straightener heats up more quickly.
3
Select a temperature setting that is suitable for
your hair type (Fig. 3).
-
Always select a low temperature setting when
you use the straightener for the first time.
-
For coarse, curly or hard-to-straighten hair, select a
medium to high setting (170 and up).
-
For fine, medium-textured or softly waved hair, select
a medium to low setting (160 and down).
Take extra care with pale, blonde, bleached or colour-
treated hair, since it is susceptible to damage at high
temperatures.
4
To set the temperature, press the + button to
increase the temperature setting or press the -
button to decrease the temperature setting (Fig. 4).
The display shows the selected temperature setting.
,
When the appliance has heated up to the selected
,
setting, the word 'READY' appears on the display.
The bars on the display show the remaining
,
usage time of the appliance. The total usage time
is 60 minutes. Every ten minutes one of the six
bars disappears. After 60 minutes, the appliance
switches off automatically.
5
Comb or brush your hair so that it is disentangled
and smooth. (Fig. 5)
6
Use a comb to divide the hair into sections. Do not
put too much hair in one section.
Tip: It is better to section off the crown area and to
straighten the hair underneath first, followed by the top area.
7
Take a section that is not wider than 5cm. Place
it between the straightening plates and press the
handles of the appliance together.
8
Slide the straightener down the length of the hair,
from root to hair end, without stopping to prevent
overheating (Fig. 6).
9
Repeat this process after 20 seconds until you have
achieved the desired look.
10 Let your hair cool down. Do not comb or brush it
before it has cooled down, as this would ruin the
hairstyle you have just created.

1
Make sure the appliance is switched off and
