Blocking Mode

When Blocking mode is enabled, notifications for selected features will be disabled. You will only receive
notifications of incoming calls from people on your allowed list.
1. From the Home screen, tap

2. In a single motion touch and slide the Blocking mode slider to the right to turn it on.

3. Place a green check mark adjacent to the features that you would like to disable.
4. Configure a time frame for these features to be active. Remove the check mark from the Always field to
configure the From and To time fields.
5. Tap Allowed contacts to assign those contacts that are exempted from these rules. Choose from None, All
contacts, Favorites, or Custom. Allowed contacts will then appear in the Allowed contact list.

Private Mode

This feature allows you to hide personal content from being accessed by anyone else using your device.
1. From the Home screen, tap

2. In a single motion touch and slide the Private mode slider to the right to turn it on.
3. Select an unlock method and complete the associated set up process.
4. Confirm
Private Mode active appears in the Notifications area.
5. Disable this mode after use to protect hidden content.

Finger Scanner

You can use the Fingerprints feature as an alternative security method for certain actions and as your lock screen.
Note: In order for fingerprint recognition to function, your fingerprint information will be stored in your device.
Important! Up to three fingerprints can be stored in memory as long as there is only one associated to each
available finger.
Registering your fingerprints
1. From the Home screen, tap

2. If you did not register your fingerprints when you first set up your device, tap Fingerprint manager.
3. Read the on-screen Disclaimer at tap OK to begin the set up process.
4. Swipe the tip of the selected finger or thumb completely over the finger print reader (
the first knuckle to the tip. An on-screen animation describes the process.
5. Continue to swipe your finger until the progress indicator shows completed.
6. Enter a password to use as an alternative in case your fingerprint is not read correctly.
7. Confirm the password and tap OK.

● Fingerprint manager: allows you to manage your currently registered fingerprints, add new fingerprints, or
deregister (delete) existing fingerprints.
● Change alternative password: allows you to change the password assigned to currently registered
fingerprints.
● Screen lock: allows you to assign the current screen lock method. If you have registered a fingerprint,
select Fingerprints as the lock method.
● Verify Samsung account: allows you to use your fingerprint instead of your password when signing onto
your Samsung account. Follow the on-screen instructions.

● Pay with PayPal: allows you to use your linked PayPal© service's fingerprint recognition to quickly make
online payments. Follow the on-screen instructions to install the required FIDO protocol and link your

1. From the Fingerprints screen, tap Fingerprints manager.

Motions and Gestures

This feature allows you to assign specific functions to certain phone actions that are detected by both the
accelerometer and gyroscope.
Caution! Excessive shaking or impact to the device may cause unintended results. To learn how to properly
control motions, access the Motions and gestures menu. When a topic is tapped, each entry comes
with an on-screen tutorial.

Air browse
Air browse allows you to scroll through pages or go to the next or previous item in a list by moving your hand up
and down, or left and right above the sensor located at the middle top of your display.
1. From the Settings screen, tap Motions and gestures g Air browse.
2. In a single motion touch and slide the Air browse slider to the right to turn it on.
3. Tap on the applications that you would like to enable to use the Air browse feature. A check mark will
appear.
4. When using a supported application, move your open hand across the screen to use Air browse.
Direct call
With the Direct Call feature, your device will dial the currently displayed on-screen Contact entry as soon as you
place the device to your ear.
