Idling speed may be high for a short time
after a cold start. This is in order that the
emissions system can quickly reach normal
operating temperature and achieve optimal
function.
wIndscreen wIPers and raIn sensor*

Rain Sensor On/Off, with the lever in posi-
tion 0.

Regulates the sensor sensitivity or the inter-
mittent delay.

Wiper, rear window – intermittent/normal.
Locks doors, tailgate and fuel cap,
and also arms the alarm*.
Unlocks doors
and also disarms the alarm.
Unlocks the tailgate – it does not
open.
Approach lighting. Switches on the
interior lighting, position/parking
lamps, number plate lighting and the
lamps* in the door mirrors.
Panic function. Hold depressed for
approx. 3 seconds or press twice
in an emergency situation to trigger
the alarm. Switched off by any of
the buttons or automatically after 25
seconds.
Automatic relocking takes place if a door/tailgate is

not opened within 2 minutes after unlocking.
The key blade can be used to lock/unlock the
glovebox.

startInG the enGIne

Petrol 3.2: Depress the brake pedal, turn the
remote control key to position III and release
it directly – the engine starts automatically.
all other engines: Depress the brake pedal,
turn the remote control key to position III and
release it when the engine starts.
diesel: Preheat by turning the key to
position II and holding until the combined
instrument panel's symbol extinguishes – then
turn directly to position III and release when
the engine starts.
