    Connecting the DPC-8.5 —Continued Connecting a Stereo Amp This section explains how to connect the DPC-8.5 to a stereo amp or receiver for sound quality better than that possible with most TV’s built-in speakers.     Controlling the DPC-8.5 When It’s Out of Range If the DPC-8.5 is located in another room, installed in a cabinet, or is out of range of its remote controller, you can use a commercially available IR receiver to pick up the remote controller signals and feed them to the DPC-8.5, as shown below.

    Dimmer RC- 543DV Using JPEG CDs JPEG The DPC-8.5 supports JPEG CDs, so you can view your photos on TV either individually or as a slideshow. Load and select a JPEG CD. Depending on the type of JPEG disc, either the first nine pictures appear in thumbnail-size or the Disc Navigator appears.

    Remedy Connect the power cord to a suitable wall outlet (page 26). Turn off the DPC-8.5, wait five seconds, then try turning it on again. If that fails, disconnect the power cord from the wall outlet, wait five sec- onds, reconnect it, then try turning it on again.
  • Page 67 ■ Restoring the Default Settings To reset the DPC-8.5 to its factory defaults, turn it on and, while holding down the Stop [ ] button, press the [Standby/ On] button. “Initialize” appears on the display.
