Installation/Operation Instructions
To set-up the headset:
1.Insert the larger headset plug into the aircraft or intercom headphone or
phone jack.
2.Insert the smaller headset plug into the aircraft or intercom microphone or
mic jack.
3.If you are using a stereo intercom, set the headset stereo/mono switch (on the
side of the headset opposite the microphone boom) to S; if you are using a
mono intercom, set the headset stereo/mono switch to M.
4.Adjust the headband sliders and microphone boom for proper fit and comfort.
5.Place the microphone 0-1/8 inch from your lips at the side of your mouth with
the flat side facing outward.
6.Rotate the headset volume control (on the side of the headset opposite the
microphone boom) fully clockwise to the maximum position.

If the aircraft does not have a built-in push-to-talk switch, you must install a portable
PTT switch to use the radio.
Master Gain Control
The master gain control, located in the aircraft radio, should be optimized by a com-
petent avionics technician whenever adding a new model microphone to the system.

CAUTION: Be certain the jacks installed in the aircraft are wired correctly to accom-
modate the headset plug configuration. Bias voltages supplied to the microphone
must come from voltage and resistance ranges specified above. Voltages supplied
from other sources can cause microphone failure. The microphone audio signal is
present between the ring and barrel of the microphone plug; the tip is reserved for
the transmit keyline.
