Usage Precautions Do not place items other than discs on the tray. Do not leave the tray in the open position or touch the lens area. Should the lens become soiled by dust or dirt, the unit may not read discs properly. Under some conditions, dust may build up on the optical lens or disc, possibly resulting in malfunction. -

Using the Drive Installing/Removing a Device Refer to the Reference Manual included with your computer on how to install/remove the drive. CAUTION Be sure to turn the computer off before installing/removing the drive. Preparations Windows XP Confirm that [Transfer Mode] is set to [DMA if available] in [Start] - [Control Panel] - [Performance and Maintenance] - [System] - [Hardware] - [Device Manager] - [IDE ATA/ ATAPI controllers] - [Secondary IDE Channel] - [Advanced Settings] - [Device 0]. - Page 7 Setting a Disc Power on your computer. Label side up Open the disc tray. Press the eject button and slowly pull out the tray. NOTE Before using the drive for the first time, re- move the protective sheet from the lens area. The protective sheet inside the drive delays the opening of the drive by about ten seconds.

Vorsichtsmaßnahmen zum Gebrauch Legen Sie nur Discs in das Laufwerkfach ein. Lassen Sie das Fach nicht offen und berühren Sie die Abtastoptik nicht mit den Fingern. Bei Verschmutzung der Optik können Lesefehler auftreten. Unter bestimmten Bedingungen kann sich Staub auf der Abtasterlinse oder Disc ansammeln, wodurch Fehlfunktionen verursacht werden können. -

Seien Sie daher besonders vorsichtig, denn nach der vierten Einstellung, ist der Regionalcode fest eingestellt und es können keine weiteren Einstellungen vorgenommen werden. Précautions d’utilisation Ne placez pas d’objets autres que des disques dans le tiroir. Ne laissez pas le tiroir ouvert et ne touchez pas la zone de la lentille. Si la lentille est maculée de poussière ou de saletés, l’appareil ne pourra pas lire les disques correctement. Dans certaines conditions, de la poussière peut s’accumuler sur la lentille ou sur le disque et éventuellement entraîner un mauvais fonctionnement. -

Face de l’étiquette Ouvrez le tiroir de disque. vers le haut Appuyez sur le bouton d’éjection puis tirez lentement le tiroir. REMARQUE Avant d’utiliser le lecteur pour la première fois, retirez la feuille de protection de la zone de la lentille.
