The answer machine is operated using the keys on the base (
Activating/deactivating the answer machine

Answer & record: The caller can leave a message;

Answer only: The caller only hears an announcement
and cannot leave a message;
Alternating: 

If activated, Record from: s / Record until: Enter the
length of time in which messages are recorded.

If the left or right display key is assigned the Status function (factory settings, Assigning display

page 31), the answer machine can be activated and deactivated quickly:

To record, press "OK" and speak after the tone.
after the ready tone (min. 3 secs, max. 180 secs).
Cancelling the recording: Briefly press the Answer/End call key a or Back during the
recording.
After the recording, the announcement is played back for you to check. 
Repeating the recording: Press New during playback.
Notes

The recording ends if there is a pause lasting longer than 3 seconds.
u
If you cancel the recording, the default announcement is used.
u
If the answer machine's memory is full, it will switch to Answer only mode. After old mes-
sages have been deleted, it switches back into Answer & record mode.
