Chapter 4. Software overview

After installing your IBM FAStT Host Adapter, you are ready to install the device
drivers for the adapter.
The device drivers for the following supported operating systems are provided with
your IBM FAStT Host Adapter:
Note: The latest versions of the device drivers, utilities, and documentation are
available at http://www.ibm.com/pc/support/.
Use the following steps if you need to create driver diskettes to support the
installation of Novell NetWare version 5.1, Microsoft Windows NT 4.0, or Windows
2000:

Novell NetWare Version 5.1
Before you begin
Create driver diskettes by copying the image you need from the IBM FAStT
Host Adapter Support CD for the following:
– FAStT Host Adapter for Windows 2000
– FAStT Host Adapter for Windows NT 4.0
– FAStT Host Adapter for NetWare 5.1
Note: You will be prompted for the driver diskettes during the operating
system installation process.
Read through the software installation chapters to determine which device
driver you want to install.
1. Insert the IBM FAStT Host Adapter Support CD into the CD-ROM drive.
2. To create the IBM FAStT Host Adapter device driver diskette:
For Windows NT 4, at the command prompt, type:
d:\tools\dsk4w32 d:\images\nt4\nt4_7 4 4 4.img a:
Where d is the CD-ROM drive and a is the diskette drive.
For Windows 2000, at the command prompt, type:
d:\tools\dsk4w32 d:\images\w2k\w2k_7 4 3 2.img a:
Where d is the CD-ROM drive and a is the diskette drive.
For NetWare 5.1, at the command prompt, type:
d:\tools\dsk4w32 d:\images\nw51\nw51_55 v.img a:
Where d is the CD-ROM drive and a is the diskette drive.
3. Press Enter.
4. Remove the diskette from the diskette drive and label the diskette
appropriately.
5. Remove the IBM FAStT Host Adapter Support CD from the CD-ROM drive.
