The Pro1 IAQ T855 thermostat could blow cold air instead of heat and not shut off without a restart due to several possible reasons:
1. Incorrect System Configuration – The thermostat may be set to cooling mode instead of heating mode. 2. Faulty Wiring – Incorrect wiring connections or loose wires can cause the system to malfunction. 3. Heat Pump System Issues – If the thermostat is controlling a heat pump, an issue with the reversing valve could cause it to blow cold air instead of heat. 4. Compressor Lockout – If the outdoor temperature is below 50˚F (10˚C), the cooling system should not be operated to prevent compressor damage. If the system is trying to run cooling mode in such conditions, it may behave abnormally. 5. Thermostat Software or Hardware Malfunction – A malfunctioning thermostat may not properly switch between heating and cooling, requiring a restart to reset the system.
Checking the thermostat settings, wiring, and system compatibility can help diagnose the issue. If the problem persists, professional service may be required.
