I have this vision pro 8000, how do I set the 2nd stage of my heat pump to come on at a set outdoor temp?

The second stage of the Honeywell VisionPRO 8000 heat pump is controlled by factors such as load conditions, environmental conditions, P+I control, and home insulation. However, you can fine-tune its operation using an outdoor temperature sensor and balance point settings.

To set the second stage to activate at a specific outdoor temperature:
1. Install the C7089U Outdoor Temperature Sensor.
2. Ensure the thermostat’s Installer Setup Number 0340 is set to 1 or 2 to enable outdoor temperature display.
3. Use the thermostat setup options to adjust the balance point, which determines when the second stage or auxiliary heat activates based on outdoor temperature.

This setup allows the system to optimize efficiency and comfort by adjusting heating stages according to outdoor conditions.
