Adjusting the compression damping of the fork

Info
The hydraulic compression damping determines the fork suspension behavior.
Info
The spring rate is shown on the outside of the spring.
Smaller weight differences can be compensated by changing the spring
preload.
Finishing work
Install the shock absorber.
Remove the motorcycle from the lift stand. (
Check the static sag of the shock absorber. (
Check the riding sag of the shock absorber. (
Adjust the rebound damping of the shock absorber. (
As with the shock absorber, smaller differences in the rider's weight can be com-
pensated by the spring preload.
However, if the fork is often overloaded (hard end stop on compression), harder
springs must be fit to avoid damage to the fork and frame.
