Defrosting
by Food
Defrosting by Food allows you to specify the
food you are defrosting and automatically sets
the defrosting times and power levels to give
even defrosting results for that type of food.
1 From the Home Screen, select DEFROST.
2 From the Defrost Screen, select BY FOOD.
3 Select the food type from the touchscreen.
4 Using the Conversion Guide at right, enter
the food weight using the numbers on the
touchscreen. For example, press 1 and 2 for
1.2 pounds (544 g) (1 pound, 3 ounces).
Press ENTER when finished. Press CLEAR
to erase the weight you entered or BACK to
select a different food type.
5 Check to make sure the food type and time
are correct, and press START on the
touchscreen.
• Remove food from package and place on
microwave-safe dish.
Conversion Guide
If the weight of food is stated in pounds and ounces, the ounces must be converted to tenths

foil. The oven will continue to defrost if you
don't open the door and turn the food.
• After defrosting, most meats need to stand
5 minutes to complete defrosting. Large
