5.1.2 Door adjustment

In order for your insert to burn at its best efficiency, the door must provide a perfect seal

with the firebox. Therefore, the gasket should be inspected periodically to check for a good

seal. The gasket seal can be improved with a simple latch mechanism adjustment. To

increase the pressure on the gasket, remove one washer (A). To reduce pressure on the

door, when putting a new door gasket for example, put two washers. To adjust:

1. Unscrew the nut.

2. Remove the door latch and the

key path pin (B).

3. Remove or add one washer

(A) as needed. Keep the

removed washer for future

adjustment.

4. Re-install the key path pin in

the key-way and slide the latch

along it.

5. Secure with the nut.

If you have to change the door

handle, remove the wooden handle

(A) retained by the washer (B) and

the Philips type screw (C). Follow

these steps in reverse to put the new

handle.
