Programming the Remote Control

Introduction

In addition to operating your digital home
communications terminal (DHCT), you can
®
program the AllTouch
2000 (AT 2000)
Remote Control (remote) to operate your
TV, VCR, CD player, or other electronic
device. To program the remote, use the
following procedures.
Notes:
The remote requires two AA batteries
(alkaline recommended). A diagram in the
battery compartment of the remote indicates
proper placement of the batteries. When
batteries are properly installed, the light on
the remote blinks each time a key is pressed.
• The AT 2000 Remote Control is not a toy. It
should be kept out of the reach of children
under the age of 6 years.

Using Mode Keys

Press the appropriate mode key to switch the remote
control operation to the configured device:
TV
VCR
CBL

Assigning a Device Code to a Mode Key

Try to use your remote to control your devices. If the
remote does not work for a device, you can assign a
different device code to the appropriate mode key.
Before you begin, make sure you know the brand
name of the device you want to control.
1. Turn on your device.
2. Locate your device brand and device setup code
in the appropriate setup code list in this guide. If
your device brand is not listed, see Searching
the Code Library.
3. Point the remote away from your DHCT, TV,
VCR, or other electronic device.

4. On your remote, press and hold SELECT and
the appropriate mode key (CBL, TV, VCR,
AUX) until the light on the remote blinks twice.
5. Using the keypad on your remote , enter the 4-
digit setup code for your device. The light on the
AUX
remote blinks twice.
6. Confirm the setup code works by pointing the
remote toward the device and test the POWER,
VOLUME, and MUTE functions.
Note: Volume and Mute functions do not apply
to all devices (for example, Home Automation
devices).
7. Did the device operate correctly?
If yes, write down the code that worked in
the Record of Codes section in this guide.
You may need it again if the device code is
accidently erased.
If no, repeat this procedure from step 2 using
a different setup code.
