BUGERA BVP5500
Classic 550-Watt Valve Bass Amplifi er Head with
Valve Gain Control and 9-Band Graphic EQ
Bass Amplifiers
When you want the ultimate in tone with
enough power to really rock the house, the
BVP5500 is hard to beat. At the heart of this
beast you'll fi nd not just one, but four 12AX7
preamp valves with a dedicated Valve Gain
control, so you can dial in the perfect
amount of tubey-goodness. And with
550-Watts of rock-solid, fan-cooled output
power your message will be heard—and felt!
All this Power and Tone, too!
We gave the BVP5500 the ultimate in
tone-shaping capability. Not only do you get
the standard Bass, Mid and Treble controls,
you also get total command over your bass'
"voice" via the Mid Frequency sweep control,
which allows you to dial in the midrange
frequency that best suits your instrument
or playing style. Simply choose one of the
fi ve settings (220 Hz, 450 Hz, 800 Hz, 1.6
kHz or 3 kHz) and adjust the Mid control to
the desired level. For example, if you play
in a serious metal band and really need to
crank out hard bass, select either 220 or
450 Hz and boost the Mid control. Need
to scoop out the mids for slap-style funk,
choose 800 Hz and lower the Mid control.
Sweepable mids make dialing in your tone
incredibly fast and simple.
You can also take advantage of the
BVP5500's boost switches to emphasize
certain dedicated frequency ranges. For
instance, you can add some top-end
in
q
quickly by engaging the Bright (centered at
2
2 kHz, +6 dB) or the Ultra High buttons
(5
(5 kHz, +6 dB). Want to deliver a knockout
p
punch to the sternum? Push the Ultra Low
s
switch to engage a seriously massive
lo
low-end boost.

Sometimes you need even more control

of your sound as a highway, a very wide

The fi rst three lanes, labeled 33-150 Hz,
