AXIS 5900 User's Manual
In a new and unconfigured Axis Print Server any user is allowed to send
TCP/IP print jobs. Using a restriction list you can restrict TCP/IP printing
from other IP addresses than those specified in the list. The TCP/IP stack
will then not accept data over LDP, Reverse Telnet and PROS. FTP and IPP
are also closed for printing although it is possible to connect directly to
the port.
In the print server's Web interface, select Admin | Network Settings |
Detailed View | TCP/IP Printing.
Print jobs from IP addresses specified in the TCP printing restriction list
will be permitted, all other print jobs will be rejected. Comma delimited IP
addresses as well as ranges of IP addresses can be entered as described in
the table below.l
Valid formats (IPv4) for a restriction string:
x.x.x.x
x.x.x.x,x.x.x.x
x.x.x.x x.x.x.x
x.x.x.x-x.x.x.x
x.x.x.*
!x.x.x.x
Invalid formats (IPv4):
x.x.x.*-x.x.x.x
x.x.x.x-x.x.x.*
x.x.x.x-x.x.x.x/22
x.x.x.x/22-x.x.x.x
192.168.0.10

192.168.0.* (wildcard)
will permit print jobs from IP addresses within the range
192.168.0.0 — 192.168.0.255
• Using ! as the first character means that the value is a reject value:
!192.168.0.10
will reject print jobs from IP address 192.168.0.10
Empty the TCP printing restriction list to remove the restrictions on non
