KNOW YOUR TOASTER BEFORE FIRST USE As there may be manufacturing residue on the toaster or heating element, it may emit an odour upon first use. This is normal and will not occur after several times use. Before toasting your first slice of bread, it is strongly recommended that you operate the appliance following the instructions below, but without bread. - Page 4 6. If the bread has been taken out of the freezer, set the colour control knob as desired, then press the carriage handle down until it is in position. Then press the DEFROST button, at which point the defrost indicator will illuminate. The toast will be cooked to your desired level.
