General:
Reported problems
Inspect interior; clean and vacuum if
necessary; WARNING — no solvents
Clean condensate trap and fill with fresh
water
Check for leaks (water, gas, flue,
condensate)
Check system water chemistry
Verify flue and air lines in good condition
and sealed tight
Check system water pressure/system
piping/expansion tank
Check control settings
Ignition electrode (clean with steel wool and
reposition)
Ignition and ground wiring
Wiring and connections
Perform start-up checkout and performance
verification beginning with Startup — fill the
system, page 70
Flame inspection (stable, uniform)
Flame signal (see Figure 92, page 82)
Clean heat exchanger if flue temp is more
than 54°F above return water temp
Inspect jacket front door gaskets; replace if
necessary
Additional if combustion or
performance indicate need:
Clean heat exchanger
Remove and clean burner using
compressed air only
Vacuum the blower
Review:
Review with owner
