3 Ensure that the power, mini-SAS data, and signal cables are firmly seated
in their connectors on the SAS expander board and node power
distribution board. Or, check the connector pins for damage.
4 Ensure that the SAS expander board is installed properly in the sled.
5 Reinstall the sled into the enclosure. See "Installing a Sled" on page 31.
If the problem persists, see "Getting Help" on page 77.

Troubleshooting the Hard-Drive Backplane

CAUTION:
Many repairs may only be done by a certified service technician. You
should only perform troubleshooting and simple repairs as authorized in your
product documentation, or as directed by the online or telephone service and
support team. Damage due to servicing that is not authorized by Dell is not covered
by your warranty. Read and follow the safety instructions that came with the
product.
1 Remove the sled from the server enclosure. See "Removing a Sled" on
page 30.
2 Ensure that the cables are firmly seated in their connectors in the hard-
drive backplane. Or, check the connector pins for damage.
3 Ensure that the hard-drive backplane is installed properly in the sled.
4 Reinstall the sled into the enclosure. See "Installing a Sled" on page 31.
If the problem persists, see "Getting Help" on page 77.
