LiveSecurity®Service. LiveSecurity extends your protection with software updates, emerging threat
alerts, and expert security articles.
To activate your Firebox X Edge:
1. Use your web browser and go to http://www.watchguard.com/activate/
2. If you are a new customer, click Create a User Profile. If you are an existing customer, log in
with your LiveSecurity Service user name and passphrase.

register your Firebox X Edge. To find your serial number,
look on the bottom of your Edge. Write the serial number
here for reference.
4. Save a copy of your feature key. You will need it when you complete the Quick Setup Wizard.
5. Download and save the most current Edge software and release notes. You will install the latest
software when you get to section 5 of this guide. There are two installation choices for each
Edge release. Windows users should choose the automatic installation option.
